Day 1: Morning, depart Miri by flight for Bario Highlands. Upon arrival, transfer to the lodge for check in. After a local set lunch, visit Ulung Palang and Bario Asal longhouses inhabited by the Kelabit tribe in the Bario Valley. Get a briefing by your guide on the following days’ trekking agenda prior to dinner. Overnight in the lodge. (Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2: Breakfast in the lodge before starting the trek to Pa’Lungun. Trekking time takes about 4 hours over a small hill called Ra’n Bulu Barit. Arrive Pa’Lungun at mid-afternoon. Settle down while your guide will prepares lunch. Afternoon, free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the headman’s house. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 3: Early morning, start off with breakfast before proceeding to visit Ritoh Monument where you will start your trek to Long Repun. Trekking time takes from 5 - 6 hours involving a fairly strenuous climb over Singkulup Hill with a few river crossings. Arrive Long Repun jungle shelter in the late evening. The shelter marks the mid-point in the journey for us to cross over to Indonesia the next day and the site used to be inhabited by the Kelabits (now moved to Pa’Ukat and Pa’Lungan) over 50 years ago during Japanese occupation of Sarawak. Dinner and overnight in the jungle shelter. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 4: Early morning, after breakfast, proceed for an early trek over to the Indonesia territory. Trekking time takes about 5 hours with one hill (Ra’an Bulu) crossing which marks the Malaysian / Indonesian Border, with a stop at the bamboo plantation for lunch. You are now in Indonesia where you will settle down at a local village called Pa’Rupai inhabited by the tribe here called Lun Dayeh. Continue with another 2-3 hours trek (3km) across the rice fields to arrive at Ba’kelalan in the late afternoon. Proceed direct to the lodge. Dinner and overnight in the lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 5: Early breakfast. Morning, visit the coffee and apple plantations in the valley. After the visit, depart by flight for Miri via Lawas. (Breakfast)
